How the Best Friend Test Works
Best Friend Test gives you two ways to have fun with your friendships: take a ready-made Friendship Score test or create a personalized BFF quiz about yourself and challenge your friends to see how well they know you.
Both options work without creating an account or signing up with an email address.
Option 1: Take the Friendship Score Test
The Friendship Score test is a quick way to explore your friendship using pre-built questions.
Start by entering your friend’s name and choosing how many questions you want to answer: 5, 10, 15, or 20.
The questions cover different parts of friendship, such as understanding each other, supporting one another, trust, communication, everyday situations, memories, and how you respond when your friend needs you.
Your questions are selected from a larger question bank, so the exact test can vary each time you play.
Answer each question by choosing the option that best describes your friendship. When you finish, Best Friend Test calculates your Friendship Score and shows your result.
How the Friendship Score Is Calculated
The pre-built Friendship Score uses a points-based system.
Each answer option has a point value based on the response shown in the quiz. When you select an answer, its points are added to your total.
After the final question, your total points are compared with the maximum possible points for the particular questions you received.
Friendship Score = Points Earned ÷ Maximum Possible Points × 100
For example, if the maximum possible score for your set of questions is 50 points and your answers earn 40 points:
40 ÷ 50 × 100 = 80%
Your Friendship Score would be 80%.
What the Friendship Score Results Mean
90%–100% — Ride-or-Die Connection 👑
This is the highest Friendship Score range in the tool and represents answers associated with a particularly close, supportive, and connected friendship.
75%–89% — Bestie Status 💖
Your answers indicate a strong friendship with plenty of trust, care, understanding, and shared connection.
55%–74% — Close Friends Energy ✨
Your answers reflect a meaningful friendship while leaving room for the two of you to learn even more about each other.
Below 55% — Growing Friendship 🌱
Your answers suggest that the friendship still has room to grow and develop.
These labels are designed for entertainment. They are not psychological assessments or scientific measurements of the quality of a friendship.
Option 2: Create Your Own Best Friend Quiz
If you want something more personal than pre-built questions, you can create a custom BFF quiz about yourself.
This is the feature that makes Best Friend Test personal: you decide what your friends should know about you.
Step 1: Choose Your Quiz Length
Start with a quiz containing 5, 10, 15, or 20 questions.
A custom quiz must contain at least 5 valid questions before it can be created.
Step 2: Personalize Your Questions
Your quiz starts with editable question ideas, but you are free to personalize them.
You can change the question text, edit answer choices, add answers, remove answers, add questions, or remove questions.
This means your quiz can be based on the things that actually make your friendships unique, such as your favorite things, habits, personality, memories, hobbies, preferences, inside jokes, or anything else your friends might know about you.
Step 3: Choose the Correct Answers
For every question, you select the answer that should count as correct.
These answers become the answer key for your quiz.
Your friends’ responses are later compared with the answers you selected when creating it.
Step 4: Create and Share Your Quiz
After finishing your questions, enter your name and create the quiz.
Best Friend Test generates two different links.
Shareable Quiz Link
This is the link you send to your friends so they can take your quiz.
Private Results and Management Link
This link is for you. It lets you view your quiz results and manage the quiz.
Keep this link private.
You do not need an account or password to create the quiz.
Step 5: Your Friends Take the Quiz
Anyone who has your shared quiz link can open the quiz and answer your questions.
Your friends work through the questions one at a time and select the answer they think you chose as correct.
At the end, they enter their name and submit the quiz to see their score.
No account is required for your friends either.
How Custom BFF Quiz Scores Are Calculated
Custom quizzes use a simple correct-answer scoring system.
Each question has one correct answer: the answer selected by the quiz creator.
A friend receives one point for every answer that matches the creator’s answer key.
Quiz Score = Correct Answers ÷ Total Questions × 100
For example, if a friend answers 8 questions correctly on a 10-question quiz:
8 ÷ 10 × 100 = 80%
Their score is 8/10, or 80%.
What Custom Quiz Results Mean
90%–100% — True BFF Unlocked 🏆
Your friend matched almost all of the answers selected by the quiz creator.
70%–89% — Certified Bestie 💖
Your friend knows a lot about the quiz creator and answered most questions correctly.
40%–69% — Casual Friend Energy 😅
Your friend got some answers right but still has a few things to learn.
Below 40% — Do You Even Know Them? 👀
Your friend matched fewer than 40% of the creator’s answers.
These result names are playful labels based only on performance in that particular quiz. A low score does not mean someone is a bad friend, and a perfect score does not prove that someone is your closest friend.
See Who Knows You Best
The private management link created with your custom quiz gives you access to your quiz results.
As friends complete the quiz, you can see their names and scores and compare how well each person performed.
Results are ranked with higher scores first, making it easy to see who answered the most questions correctly.
Keep your management link private. Your friends only need the normal quiz-sharing link.
Your Recent Quiz Activity
Best Friend Test can remember active quiz activity on the browser you’re currently using for up to 365 days.
My Recent Quizzes
When you create a custom quiz, it can appear under My Recent Quizzes on the homepage.
For each active quiz, you can see:
- The quiz and the day it was created
- How many people have taken it
- A View Analytics button that opens its private results dashboard
Quizzes You’ve Taken
When you complete a friend’s custom quiz, it can appear under Quizzes You’ve Taken while that quiz remains active.
You can see your saved score and use View Result to reopen the result stored in that browser.
Browser-Only History
If you create a quiz on your phone, for example, it will not automatically appear in the history on your laptop.
Clearing your browser’s site data may also remove this local history.
Only active quizzes are shown. Expired or deleted quizzes are removed from the history.
How Long Does a Custom Quiz Last?
A quiz remains active for 365 days after it is created. During those two weeks, friends with the shared quiz link can take the quiz, and the creator can view participant scores through the private analytics dashboard.
After the 365-day active period ends, the quiz stops accepting answers and its analytics dashboard is no longer available.
Expired quiz links display a message explaining that the quiz is no longer active. Quiz creators can also delete their quiz in their analytics dashboard before the 2 weeks end.
Can I Edit a Quiz After Creating It?
A custom quiz cannot currently be edited after it has been created.
This is intentional because changing questions, answer choices, or correct answers after friends have already participated could make earlier scores inconsistent with later scores.
If you want to change your quiz, you can create a new one with the updated questions.
Do I Need an Account?
No. This Bff testing tool does not require an account to take the Friendship Score test, create a custom BFF quiz, or answer a quiz shared by a friend.
Are Best Friend Test Scores Scientific?
No.
Best Friend Test is an entertainment tool designed to make friendship quizzes fun, personal, and easy to share.
The Friendship Score is calculated using the point values built into its pre-made questions, while custom BFF quiz scores measure how many of a creator’s selected answers a friend matched.
Neither score is designed to diagnose, evaluate, or scientifically measure the strength of a friendship.
Real friendships cannot be reduced to a percentage. The score is simply part of the fun of answering questions, comparing results, discovering what your friends know about you, and creating memories together.
